![]() ![]() for example, i can have multiple virtual instruments not just from NI (massive, fm8, reaktor, etc), but from 3rd parties (arturia pigments), and when you're searching for a sound by type (sub, lead, percussive, etc) the same tags work for all instruments no matter who made them. What the komplete kontrol software gives you is straightforward UI and organization that you can use as a plug-in in your daw. Kk is geared toward keyboard players while maschine is more for percussionists/finger drummers and other such instruments (also friendlier for djs). KK is sort of a virtual synth for more intricate sound design. maschine is more of a groovebox/sampler/beat machine like an MPC. the overall purpose of each one is different. I dont have the complete or most technical answer for this so i invite others to pitch in.
